Gymnasium Beekvliet in Sint-Michielsgestel originated from the former Seminary of the Bishopric of 's-Hertogenbosch.
When it closed in 1972 the gymnasium was continued with external pupils from throughout the region.
At the moment almost eight hundred pupils attend our school.
In 1987 the school moved to a new building in the Beekvlietstraat (=Beekvliet Street) on the outside of the original seminary buildings. From the beginning of 1995 the school has expanded considerably.
In 2002 the new 'studiehuis' (= Study House) was furnished and a new entrance, wardrobe and auditorium were built.
The year 2005 marked Beekvliet's 190th anniversary.
