Package Selection

In all choices made from the 3rd form onwards the pupils are assisted by the school’s careers master. In the 3rd form pupils attend a Course in Package Selection which is followed up by an Information Meeting. After that a provisional choice is made. Then, the teachers give their advice. Before a definite selection of subjects is made all pupils are interviewed by the careers master.
The pupils of the 4th form are informed about their selection and do a Professional Interest Test. They also have an interview with the careers master which is aimed at their selection of a Profile and an orientation on future studies. Moreover, an Information Meeting with the parents is organized. The teachers of the optional subjects advise them concerning their children’s choice of the Stream towards their definitive Profile.
Sixth form pupils have an interview with the careers master with regards to their future plans.

Other Activities

In November the careers master organizes a meeting for pupils of the 4th, 5th and 6th forms where they can meet former Beekvliet pupils who will tell them about their personal experiences in the studies they have taken up. On another occasion a number of professionals will supply them with information on their work.
Pupils in the 5th and 6th forms are invited to a Multi Educational Information evening held yearly at Sint Janslyceum in ´s-Hertogenbosch.
All pupils of the 4th form visited the University of Nijmegen in 2004. There they attended a special day programme in line with their Profiles, so that they can get an impression of what being a student means.
