Learning is more than studying

The age group 12 to 18 year olds is characterized by a great many changes. In order to be successful just working hard is not enough.
All-important is the development of a correct attitude towards learning activities and achieving a high degree of studying independently. The modern Gymnasium is setting up a programme in its ‘studiehuis’ that does more than prepare our pupils for their final examinations. It attempts to lay a strong foundation with respect to successful studies at University or ‘Hogeschool”. This is where our specialization as a ‘school for VWO’ shows best.

Identity

It is not only the Educational Set-up of a school which defines its identity, social and religious principles also play a fundamental role. Beekvliet is a Roman Catholic school. Education is offered from a Christian perspective. The school bases itself on its own tradition but is also characterized by an open-minded social orientation which has always been one of the key points in the humanities of gymnasiums.
Forms 1 to 5 attend classes in Theology. As a matter of fact not all our pupils are Roman Catholics.
