Evaluation of the educational process

Beekvliet has always realised that it is well prepared where comparisons with other schools are made.
It is up to the school to prove its excellence in certain fields and aspects of education. That is why, as early as 1972, we have started publishing exam results, including the ‘bad marks’; data related to promotion, school leavers and course repeaters is also published on a yearly basis. Some years ago school inspectors started to give marks to individual schools which are published in the for of a Quality Card. The set-up of this system has been quite controversial. A central question is whether or not the initial level of pupils should be taken into account. Do urban schools with many children of migrant workers have to conform to different criteria than rural/regional schools? A survey of Quality Cards can be found at www.kwaliteitskaart.nl.
In the past few years “Trouw” - one of Holland’s quality newspapers - has given a positive assessment of our school. This data can be viewed at www.trouw.nl.
